Carmen Fariña has joined the board of directors for Teachers Network, a nationwide nonprofit organization based in New York City, that seeks to improve student achievement by bringing together a professional community of teachers and other educators. Ms. Fariña, 63, is a former deputy chancellor for teaching and learning for the New York City Department of Education.
