Larry Ferlazzo, a teacher of English-language learners at Luther Burbank High School in Sacramento, Calif., featured me today in a Q&A about what it’s like to report on ELLs. It’s my job here at Education Week to help educators stay informed about these students. I tell my friends that my job is a bit like always being in graduate school. In other words, I learn a lot.

By the way, I’m hosting the next English-learning Web carnival, which was founded by Larry Ferlazzo. A recent carnival on the subject featured lessons submitted by teachers from around the world. I’ll post the next carnival on June 1. Submissions are due the day before, the last day of May. You may use this form to submit posts.
