Ciara Meyer is a former newsroom intern for Education Week. She is studying Statistics and Nonfiction Writing at Brown University in Providence, R.I. Outside of class, she serves as a Section Editor for the Brown Daily Herald covering Youth & Education and Admissions & Financial Aid. Last year, Ciara wrote for the Times Union in Albany, New York as a City Desk intern.
Ciara is from Saratoga Springs, N.Y.—a small town known for thoroughbred racing and high school cross country (two activities Ciara has never participated in). She started writing and editing for her high school newspaper, The Lightning Rod, and gravitated toward education reporting after entering college. Outside of work, Ciara enjoys hiking, biking, drinking iced coffee, and scrapbooking.
