This Thursday and Friday, about a hundred online learning leaders, experts, and educators will converge in Atlanta for the Southern Regional Education Board’s annual Symposium for Teaching and Learning. The theme of this year’s conference is quality—what it is, how to recognize it, and how to improve it in state-level online learning programs.
“Online education is becoming a prominent part of American education. And it’s still evolving. The symposium will challenge all of us to delve deeper and think differently about the intersections of technology, teaching and learning,” said Myk Garn, the director of SREB’s educational technology cooperative, in a press release.
Highlights include a panel of high school and college students who will share their views about how online learning has affected them, as well as the long-awaited announcement of this year’s National Online Teacher of the Year award. A tentative schedule of the two-day conference’s events has been posted online.
