The promise of personalized learning is complicated by the fact that most schools still don’t fully understand what it means or how to make it work. But some school districts, such as the Horry County schools in South Carolina, have had measurable success with personalized learning and have learned some important lessons about what does and does not work. Horry County officials will discuss how the district’s personalized learning initiative is evolving, the best methods for implementation, and problems to avoid.
