We’ve reported to you about bubble-ups of legislative opposition to the Common Core State Standards. But there is a far bigger legislative landscape, of course, than just the bills or resolutions that are introduced to unravel states’ adoptions.
The National Council of State Legislatures has compiled a handy list of bills that are in any way related to the common standards, and the status of those bills. My colleague Andrew Ujifusa has the details for you over at the State EdWatch blog. This legislation list could prove useful for anyone who wants to track this stuff. Here’s a link to a recent webinar which features NCSL analyst Daniel Thatcher discussing the list of legislation.
In case you’ve missed our posts here about various bills in opposition to the common core, check here, here and here for a sampling. But as Andrew rightly points out, there are tons of pieces of legislation that deal with instructional materials, professional development, and other issues central to the core.
