Adoption season takes hold: Wisconsin and North Carolina have adopted the common standards.
The North Carolina State Board of Education made its move at a meeting today, according to one local report. Wisconsin’s superintendent of public instruction, Tony Evers, made his decision yesterday, the day the final standards were unveiled (Wisconsin doesn’t have a board of ed, so it’s up to the supe.).
You might recall from reading this blog that four other states have adopted the common core tentatively. Those votes were tentative because they came before the final version of the standards came out yesterday (see here for my story on that). I’m guessing the most recent two adoptions, then, are final.
