Media Literacy Training for Teachers Goes a Long Way (Video)

While media literacy is increasingly important, it can often be difficult for teachers to figure out exactly how to teach it. As Education Week reported recently on PBS NewsHour, organizations and lawmakers have developed curriculum and materials to help students spot fake news and critically evaluate online information.

The Center for News Literacy at Stony Brook University is one media literacy group that has increased their teacher-training efforts. In this video, program directors and teachers discuss the training, and how it’s helping them teach the subject.
