The What Works Clearinghouse of the U.S. Department of Education asked whether the tutoring intervention Reading Recovery is effective for English-language learners but didn’t reach a conclusion. It identified 13 studies of Reading Recovery used with ELLs but didn’t find any of them met the “evidence standards” for the clearinghouse, as I blogged about today over at Curriculum Matters.
