The Council For Exceptional Children has launched a website to celebrate 35 years of the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act. Like the U.S. Department of Education, the CEC (an advocacy group of teachers, administrators, and parents) is seeking comments on what the act has meant to you.
A nice element of the CEC website is that you can see comments as they are posted. The Individuals with Disabilities Act is new enough that many of the people who were involved in its creation are still able to comment on the evolution of the law over 35 years. The historical perspectives offer an interesting glimpse of the past.
