Earlier this week, 11 Atlanta educators were found guilty of racketeering for inflating student test scores on Georgia’s statewide assessments. The public school teachers, administrators, and testing coordinators, 10 of whom were immediately jailed, had received bonuses and raises for the improved scores. They were convicted under a statute usually used to prosecute organized crime cases, and now face up to 20 years in jail.
To gauge the impact of the verdicts on the K-12 education community, Education Week collected reactions from across its social media channels.
