Arne Duncan Celebrates Supreme Court Ruling: #LoveWins

So the big news of the day wasn’t education related, but the U.S. Department of Education is celebrating the Supreme Court’s ruling backing the right of same-sex couples to have their marriages recognized all the same—at least on social media.

The Education Department’s twitter pic went rainbow:

And U.S. Secretary of Education Arne Duncan got in on the action with this tweet.

The big question: Would a local school, non-partisan school superintendent be able to do the same thing? Or would it be construed as too political? (Duncan’s reaction is different, since he is, after all, a cabinet official in an administration that’s been behind marriage equality.)
