A new report looking at volunteering and civic engagement in the U.S. found that the most popular places for parents to volunteer were schools and other youth organizations. According to the study by the Corporation for National and Community Service, 43.1 percent of parents volunteered in those places. In addition, parents of school-age children were significantly more likely to volunteer (anywhere) than non-parents.
The report also states that 90.4 percent of parents “expressed some or a great deal of confidence in their public schools.”
