By Sarah D. Sparks — October 03, 2013 1 min read

It probably goes without saying, but the National Board for Education Sciences meeting, orriginally scheduled for today, has been cancelled due to the ongoing federal shutdown, confirmed Bridget Terry Long, the board’s chairman.

The board had been scheduled to discuss ways research could support English-language learners, among other topics. There is no word yet on when or whether the meeting for this quarter will be rescheduled.
