Can I access all of EdWeek.org for free?

You can read a limited number of EdWeek.org articles for free each month. For unlimited access, become an Education Week Premium Online and Premium Online + Print subscriber. Subscribe now.

How will I know when I've reached my article limit?

You will see a message on the website page that will tell you when you are getting close to your limit or have reached your limit.  

Are all EdWeek.org pages counted against my article limit? 

Only articles count against your limit. You have unlimited access to EdWeek.org’s home page, all topic pages , sections, collections, table of contents, multimedia, and events pages.

What are the benefits of creating an account on Education Week?

By creating an account with Education Week, you get exclusive benefits, including:

I forgot my password. How do I set a new one?

If you cannot remember your password, simply click on the Forgot Your Password? link, fill in your email address, and a temporary password will automatically be sent to you via email. To ensure this email’s successful delivery, you may need to add “no-reply@edweek.org” to your list of approved senders. Please also check your junk mail/spam boxes.

Once you receive the temporary password, sign in to our account to enter a permanent password of your choosing. After signing in with your username and temporary password, click on My Account, found at the top of the homepage. From there, click the Change Password button, enter a new password, then scroll down and click the Update Your Address button at the bottom of the page.

I never received a password reset email. What do I do?

Please check junk mail/spam boxes. You may also add “no-reply@edweek.org” to your list of approved senders to ensure the email with your new password is delivered to your inbox. If you still have not received the password reset email, call 1-800-445-8250, 8 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. ET.

How do I change my password?

To change your password, go to the Sign In box and click the link for forgot password. You will then receive an email at that address to reset your password. When you reset your password, you may use the new password of your choice.

I have forgotten my user name. Can you tell me what it is?

Your user name is the same as your email address. If you’ve forgotten which email address you used when you created your account, begin by creating a new account. If you have already used the desired email address, you will get an error message saying the username already exists. Click on Forgot Password to reset your password.

I am trying to create an account but got a message saying, "This email is already in use." What do I do?

Reset your account by changing the password to something only you know. Simply go to the Sign In box and click the link for forgot password. 

You will then receive an email at that address to reset your password. When you reset your password, you may use the new password of your choice.

I signed up for free newsletters, but I am not receiving them. Why not?

Many times email filtering or anti-SPAM software interferes with emails receipt. To ensure you can receive email from edweek.org, try one of the following:


  • Add the “edweek.org” domains to your email “safe list.” If you can’t add a whole domain name, we recommend adding  newsletters@edweek.org  and whitelisting@edweek.org to your contact list.
  • If your settings don’t allow you to add email addresses to a “safe list,” use your email client’s help section or contact your email/internet provider’s Customer Service to help with your configuration options.

How do I update or unsubscribe from newsletters or emails from Education Week? 

If you no longer wish to receive newsletters or email notifications about new features or events on edweek.org, sign in to  www.edweek.org  found at the top right of the homepage. Click on your display name and select My Profile. Once you are on your profile page, click Email Preferences and update your preferences. You may also choose to opt-out of all communications. To save your updates, click Save Preferences at the bottom of the page. Please note: to resubscribe, you will need to contact Customer Service .

If you are not signed in or don’t have an account, open the email you no longer wish to receive. At the bottom of the email, you will see a link to change your email preferences. Click that link and make your updates.

How do I become a subscriber? 

To purchase an individual subscription, you can subscribe online or call 1-800-445-8250, 8 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. ET.

How do I update the credit card on my subscription? 

Sign in to My Account. Next, click on your display name and select My Profile from the drop-down. Once you are on your profile page, click Subscription, and enter your new credit card information. To save your changes, click Update Payment Info. 

I am nervous about entering credit card information/personal information online. Is your site secure?

Edweek.org is a secure site. It is secured by Thawte SSL encryption. For more information on our security measures, review our Privacy Policy . If you prefer to pay by phone, please call Customer Service at 1-800-445-8250, 8 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. ET.

How do I make sure my subscription payment has been received?

You will receive a confirmation via email once we have received payment and applied it to your account. 

How do I renew my subscription?  

First, make sure you are signed in to   www.edweek.org . Next, click on your display name and select My Profile from the drop-down. Once you are on your profile page, click Subscription and click the button Renew under your subscription information.

I am a print subscriber. How do I claim Premium Access?

Please call Customer Service at 1-800-445-8250, 8 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. ET. A representative will ensure your email address is connected to your current account and confirm access.

How do I cancel a trial or regular subscription?

Please call customer service at 1-800-445-8250, 8 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. ET, to cancel your subscription. 

Note:  If you have a free trial, you must cancel within the free trial period to avoid being charged. If you are beyond the free trial period, you may have already incurred a charge, and your subscription will continue through the end of the month for which you were just charged. After your cancellation date, no further payments will be incurred in the future.

How do I sign in to My Account?

Click the SIGN IN link on the upper right corner of the EdWeek.org home page. Submit your email address and password. You will know you are signed in when the top right of the homepage shows your display name, or the default MY ACCOUNT.

How do I save articles to My Account and view them again?

You can save articles from your search by clicking the bookmark button that appears to the right of the search result when you hover over the result. 

You may return to your saved searches by going to My Account and clicking My Favorites in the drop-down menu. From there, you can access your saved articles, searches, events, topics, and contributors.

How do I change my street address?

First, make sure you are signed into   www.edweek.org . Next, click on your display name and select My Profile from the drop-down. Once you are on your profile page, click Subscription, and update your address. To save your changes, click Update Shipping Address.  

How do I submit an opinion essay? What are the guidelines?

Where do I send letters to the editor?

What are your rules on linking, reprinting, photocopying, or licensing content?

Permission is not required to link to any article or page on our site so long as you do not state or imply any sponsorship of your site or product by Education Week. To learn how to use the full text of any Education Week content, except to make five copies for personal, non-commercial use, visit our  Reprints, Photocopies, and Licensing Content FAQ page . 

How do I obtain back issues of Education Week?

To order print copies of any Education Week issue or special report, please call our customer service center at 1-800-445-8250. They are open from 8 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. ET, Monday through Friday.

How do I comment on stories?

First, make sure you have created an account with EdWeek.org and signed into your account. Once signed in, enter a comment on the bottom of an article page. To learn more about commenting on edweek.org, please see our notice on comments.

How do I refine my search results?

By default, your search results will contain any of the terms in your search. To narrow your results, you can put your search terms or title in quotes.

How do I filter and sort my search results?

You can refine your search results by Date, Source, Content Type, News/Opinion, or Author using the search filters on the left-hand side of the results page.

You can sort search results by relevance or date using the drop-down menu on the results page’s right-hand side. 

How do I search by an author or contributor?

To find content written by a particular Education Week writer, you can search for that person’s name in the search box and then click on the author page result. 

To search for other authors, search for the author’s name in quotes and then choose that author from the author filter on the search page’s left-hand side. 

Note: One author may appear multiple times in the filter if their name was posted differently in various articles.

How do I refine my search to opinion pieces only?

To find opinion pieces on a particular subject, refine your search results by choosing “Opinion” from the News/Opinion filter on the search results’ left-hand side.

How do I refine my search for videos only?

You can search for videos by choosing “video” from the Content Type filter on the left-hand side’s search results.

I want to search for webinars, online events, and other events. How do I do this?

You can search for webinars and other events by choosing “event” from the type filter on the search results’ left-hand side.

I am trying to find information on a particular topic or state. Do you have a page for each of them?

Topics and state pages are listed alphabetically on the  All Topics page, which links to the various subjects’ most recent articles.

Some content might not be searchable such as Associated Press content published more than 30 days ago, advertisements, older photograph captions, and graphics.

How do I find education jobs?

To find employment opportunities in the education field, visit  EdWeek TopSchoolJobs , where you can search by location and type of job.

How do I search EdWeek Market Brief content and articles?

EdWeek Market Brief  covers the marketplace of K-12 education. Some content is for Market Brief members only. Learn more about the benefits of Market Brief membership .

I want to save my search. How do I do this?

First, make sure you have created an account with Education Week and signed into your account. Use the Save Search button at the top left-hand side of your search results to save searches that you want to use again. You can also access these saved searches in “Searches” tab of the “Saved and Followed” page, which you can find by hovering over your name at the top right.
