My colleague Stephen Sawchuk has a post up on Education Week’s Curriculum Matters blog about an open-source virtual network for teachers to share resources across state lines being developed with funding from the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation as well as the Carnegie Corporation of New York. (Both the Gates Foundation and Carnegie Corporation of New York also contribute funding to Editorial Projects in Education, the nonprofit publisher of Education Week.)

The project is in its initial planning stages as of yet but raises interesting questions about what the Common Core state standards are making possible. Head over there for much more detail about the initiative.
