In late August, the U.S. Department of Education is expected to announce whether it has selected one winner or two to receive the $10.7 million in funds it is providing to create English-language-proficiency tests for the states’ common-core academic standards. California is leading one of the two consortia of states that applied. Wisconsin is leading the other.

A reader’s inquiry today caused me to realize that we had failed to provide links to the summaries of the applications submitted by those states to develop the tests that I described in an article published by Education Week earlier this month.

The summaries are now available through links to the online article, and you can also find them here and here.
