Ken Krehbiel, who has been serving as acting executive director for the National Council of Teachers of Mathematics since October 2016, has been selected as the organization’s new executive director.

Krehbiel joined NCTM 17 years ago as director of communications. In 2003, he became the associate executive director for communications, heading up all of the organization’s public affairs and publications. He has a bachelor’s degreen in journalism from the University of Kansas, and a master’s degree in music criticism from Johns Hopkins University’s Peabody Conservatory of Music.

He took over as acting executive director this fall when Bob Doucette resigned.

NCTM is a professional group for mathematics educators with 70,000 members.
