PBS NewsHour‘s most recent Making the Grade segment looks at a program that aims to bolster community college graduation rates in New York City.

In the city’s CUNY system of 2-year institutions, only 17 percent of students typically graduate within three years. Their Accelerated Study in Associate Program, however, seeks to change this. Through financial assistance, convienent class scheduling, and attentive advisors to keep students on track, the program has already seen success—57 percent of its participants graduate on time—and school administrators are looking to expand its reach.

This video segment aired on April 12, 2016.
