By now readers of this blog know that New Jersey lost out in the federal Race to the Top competiion, and did so in fairly spectacular fashion.
But Republicans and Democrats say all is not lost for the education agenda in the state. In a story this week, I look at some of the ideas being touted by both parties for how they plan to attempt to carry out aspects of the state’s unsuccessful proposal. In addition, state lawmakers have put forward bipartisan legislation on school choice, which is a major priority of Gov. Chris Christie, a Republican. Expect to see some interesting debates about ed policy in the Garden State over the coming year.
