U.S. Secretary of Education Betsy DeVos recently spoke at the Council of the Great City Schools annual legislative and policy conference in Washington, D.C. Her remarks to this group of urban school leaders stressed parental choice and local control, and asserted that she is open to all types of schools—including great public schools—when it comes to providing options for children.
