Race to the Top and the latest RTT winners have been all the talk this week. Now, thanks to the Afterschool Alliance, you can see what those 10 winners (nine states and the District of Columbia) plan for expanded learning and after-school opportunities.
The Alliance’s Afterschool Snack blog says the latest round of RTT grantees all included after-school, extended day, or other expanded-learning programs in their applications for federal funding.
And, “four RTT2 winners (the District of Columbia, Hawaii, Maryland, and New York) mention utilizing after school to increase STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math) learning opportunities for students,” the Alliance’s Diana Delfin writes. Delfin also links to a handy chart that shows what each successful applicant addressed in terms of after school, summer school, etc.
