The second winner of the Education Week Gregory M. Chronister Journalism Fellowship has been announced. Victoria Petersen of the Peninsula Clarion will use the fellowship to report how cultural and geographic barriers, teacher shortages, historical developments, and more have shaped schooling in Alaska.

Editorial Projects in Education Inc. (EPE) announced the Gregory M. Chronister Journalism Fellowship this fall. It is awarded annually to an enterprising journalist in support of a reporting project that illuminates a significant issue in pre-K-12 education.

The fellowship is meant to honor and reflect the now-retired Gregory M. Chronister, a longtime Education Week editor.
