Important Changes Regarding Access to edweek.org

A letter to readers from Virginia B. Edwards, President and Editor-in-Chief, regarding a change to the website access model on edweek.org.

Important Changes Regarding Access to edweek.org

Dear Reader,

I want to let you know about changes we have made to how readers access edweek.org beginning today, January 23, 2014. Paid subscribers will continue to have unlimited access to the array of news, opinion, services, and features on our award-winning website and are not likely to notice significant differences in their experience.

Registered visitors may choose up to 10 free articles, blog posts, and Commentaries from Education Week, Teacher, Digital Directions, and the Industry & Innovation channels each month. This content includes Education Week’s 32-plus-years of archives, which previously required a paid subscription.

Once registered users have read 10 free stories each month, they will be prompted to choose from our best subscription offers to enjoy unlimited access to edweek.org. We have several low-cost subscription options, as well as a 2-week free trial.

Existing user names or passwords will not change, for either registered users or paid subscribers.

Since the first edition of Education Week was published more than 30 years ago, subscribers have been essential partners in our mission to provide comprehensive, authoritative coverage of national, state, and local K-12 policy, research, and practice. That support has enabled us to transform our organization from a print-centric weekly newspaper to a dynamic, multifaceted, user-friendly digital information source. And it will allow continued investment in high-quality coverage and service to readers.

Please see these Frequently Asked Questions for more details about this change. For questions or concerns, email us at feedback@epe.org. Print subscribers who would like to claim free online access can do so by clicking here. For specific questions about a subscription or registered access, call our customer service team at 1-800-445-8250, Monday through Friday, between 7 a.m. and 10 p.m. ET.

Thank you for your readership,

Virginia B. Edwards
