Lydia Breiseth, the manager of the Colorin Colorado bilingual resource site hosted by the public radio station WETA, has started a Ning for teachers of English-language learners. So far it has 15 members, and I bet you can guess who at least one of them is: Larry Ferlazzo who keeps up on the latest technology that can be used to support the education of ELLs.

A Ning is a type of social networking site. I learned something about the potential of a Ning to reach a lot of people when I was seeking teachers who read aloud to middle- or high-school students on the English Companion Ning, which has 10,755 members. I put a post on that Ning asking for teachers who read aloud to contact me, and I received more than 250 responses.
