Governors’ Candidates Back Race to Top

Eight of the nine winning states in the latest round of the federal Race to the Top competition are hosting governors’ races this fall, my colleague Alyson Klein reports on PoliticsK12. And another of the victors, the District of Columbia, is staging a much-watched mayor’s race. Candidates’ support for the agendas laid out in various Race to the Top plans, perhaps not surprisingly, appears solid in many of the states, though the commitment in others, such as Georgia, is a bit less certain.
