The Benefits of Engineering for K–5 Students

Having engineering embedded in your K–5 science curriculum helps build collaboration and communication skills and gives students an opportunity to learn from diverse perspectives. Teaching engineering practices can also build skills in math, science, writing, and literacy—including vocabulary and reading comprehension—as students use critical thinking to ask questions about the world, determine what constitutes a good solution to a problem, and effectively communicate their ideas.
