Each time U.S. Education Secretary Betsy DeVos visits a school, we'll mark it down on this map. We'll note the name and location of the school, whether it's a traditional public, charter, or private school, the date, and link to any of our coverage of her visit.

Map: Tracking School Visits by U.S. Secretary of Education Betsy DeVos

U.S. Secretary of Education Betsy DeVos had the most controversial confirmation process of any nominee for education secretary in history. And her first visit to a school as secretary was tumultuous as well.

When DeVos stopped by Jefferson Middle School Academy in Washington, D.C., three days after she was confirmed, her initial attempt to enter the school was thwarted by protesters; she eventually entered the school by another door. And her subsequent comments about the Jefferson Middle School teachers drew backlash from the school.

Now, educators, observers, and advocates are watching closely to glean any signals from which schools she visits and the nature of her visits. Each time DeVos visits a school, we'll mark it down on this map. We'll note the name and location of the school, whether it's a traditional public, charter, or private school, the date, and link to any coverage we have of her visit.
