Classroom Distraction: How Does Noise Affect Your Learning Environment?

Education Week is currently working on a story about how noise affects students' learning process. Have you had this problem? Fill out the form below and submit an audio recording of the noise, which you can record using your smartphone.

How to Participate:

  • Record the audio using your cellphone. If you have an iPhone, you can use the voice memo app to record, then email the audio recording to yourself to upload using the form below. If you have an Android phone, you can download an app called Cogi (for free), then email the audio recording to yourself to upload using the form below.
  • Fill out the form below, attach your audio file and hit the submit button.
  • You can also record decibel levels using a free application such as deciBel for Android or dbVolumeMeter for iPhone. If you do so, please include the decibel level of the offending noise in the form below.
