Calculator: How Much Will COVID-19 Cost Schools?

The fast-moving recession driven by the coronavirus pandemic is expected to put financial pressure on schools as early as the 2020-21 school year. Use this interactive tool developed by Education Week and the Learning Policy Institute to calculate projected increased costs for the nation and the states.

*Students Without High-Speed Internet: The 15 percent national average is according to 2015 Pew Research Center analysis. The percentage given for each particular state is according to data from a 2018 survey from the U.S. Census Bureau.
