Students around the country took part in a school walkout last week to support gun ownership.

The walkout was organized by Will Riley, a student from Carlsbad High School in New Mexico. More than 200 of his classmates walked out with him. Walkouts were also reported in schools in Iowa, Michigan, Montana, New York, and North Carolina.

The counterprotests to those started by students at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Florida did not get the traction or news coverage that the gun-control advocates' demonstrations have received.
