Ellen Moir the founder of the New Teacher Center, has announced she will retire as chief executive officer next summer.

Moir, who previously worked as the director of teacher education at the University of California, Santa Cruz, and as a K-12 bilingual teacher, founded the nonprofit in 1998. The group partners with districts to support new teachers in their first years on the job.
