Christopher Ruszkowski

Christopher Ruszkowski, New Mexico's acting secretary of education since June, has been named secretary-designate of the post.

A former middle school social studies teacher in Miami and Boston, Ruszkowski arrived in New Mexico in April 2016 to oversee the state education department's research agenda, policies and academic priorities, school grades, and prekindergarten.

He previously worked for the Delaware education department.
