A school district north of Houston says the graduation eligibility of nearly 600 students has been jeopardized by a series of errors committed by administrators, some dating back years.

Officials in the Spring district are rushing to verify whether the high school students have met Texas state requirements to graduate. The officials say the problems include students' being directed to take the same courses repeatedly despite passing each time.

The review was prompted by a state notice that the district received in December saying the state had not received exam data for some students. District officials say some students will need summer courses to meet last-minute requirements.
