Company Offers New Tablets to North Carolina Schools
Amplify has offered to replace more than 15,000 tablets for Guilford County, N.C., schools with new devices.
The ed-tech company made the offer in a letter to Superintendent Maurice "Mo" Green, who called it a step in the right direction. Mr. Green suspended the use of the tablets, which the district began leasing out of safety concerns, including partially melted chargers.
District officials have now reported nine such chargers. It is not yet clear when students will have the tablets back.
