Wis. Wins Assessment Grant
The Wisconsin education department has won a $10.5 million, four-year grant to develop an English-language-proficiency test tied to the common-core standards, the U.S. Department of Education announced last week. Wisconsin is leading a 28-state consortium that will work with the World-class Instructional Design Consortium, or WIDA, and several other partners to create an online tool to assess students' skills in reading, writing, and speaking English.
