More than nine of every 10 Hispanic Americans view education as a top priority in the United States, a report says. The Washington-based National Alliance for Hispanic Health, a nonprofit organization that encourages the health and well-being of Hispanic communities, and the Alexandria, Va.-based Research!America, a nonprofit group that promotes improvement of medical research, produced the study.

Based on a random sample of 800 Hispanic adults selected for telephone interviews, the study also found that 86 percent of those interviewed considered it “very important” for families to encourage their children to go into medical and science-research fields.
