The U.S. Supreme Court declined to hear the appeal of an Alabama school resource officer who sought review of lower-court rulings denying him immunity from civil liability in a case in which the officer handcuffed a 9-year-old student who had disobeyed her gym teacher. The justices declined without comment on May 21 to hear Tuscaloosa County, Ala., sheriff’s deputy Antonio Bostic’s appeal in Bostic v. Gray (Case No. 06-895).
