Utah Board Member Resigns
A member of the Utah state school board has resigned, saying he was “frustrated” with members of the legislature he considers anti- education. Gary C. Swensen, who had served about two years on the 15-member board, decided to spend time drawing attention to legislators “who are not education-friendly,” he said in an interview. Earlier this year, Utah lawmakers defeated a proposal for optional full-day kindergarten. Mr. Swensen backed the proposal.
