The federal Centers for Disease Control and Prevention is recommending routine vaccination against meningitis for children ages 11 and 12, previously unvaccinated adolescents entering high school, and college freshmen who will live in dormitories. The Atlanta-based agency announced guidelines May 26 for administering a new vaccine.
