“Works in Progress: A Report on Middle and High School Improvement Programs” is available online from The CSRQ Center. ()
A guide that describes nearly 100 programs and approaches to comprehensive reform for middle and high schools was recently released to help administrators make decisions about ways of raising student achievement.
Produced by the Washington-based American Institutes for Research, a nonprofit research organization that operates the Comprehensive School Reform Quality Center, a project financed by the U.S. Department of Education, the guide outlines critical issues facing secondary education and how they affect achievement.
The publication is a precursor to a series of additional guides, due out in fall 2006, that will rate the effectiveness of widely used models of comprehensive improvement for elementary and secondary schools.
