Utah’s state charter school board will ask the legislature to remove a cap that limits it to authorizing just eight schools per year. The seven-member board also wants state law changed to eliminate a requirement that it act on charter applications within 60 days. Board members say the intent of their request is to gain flexibility to work with applicants and approve requests throughout the year.
