A 26-member committee set up by the Kansas state board of education to revise the state’s science standards has postponed until February its first hearing. The process is reigniting controversy over the teaching of evolution. The committee’s first draft of recommendations, released Dec. 7, was attacked by an eight-member group of the committee for lacking a critical analysis of evolution.
