School Breakfasts: Participation by low-income children in the federal school breakfast program increased by more than 353,000 between the 2002-03 and 2003-04 school years, the biggest jump in nine years, a report says.
Produced by the Food Research and Action Center, an advocacy organization based in Washington, the report estimates that 7.1 million children received free or reduced-price breakfasts during the last school year, a 5.2 percent increase from the previous year.
