Chevon T. Baccus recently began a one-year term as the president of the National School Public Relations Association.

Ms. Baccus is the development director for the 530-student All Saints Academy, a private pre-K-12 school in Winter Haven, Fla. She will continue in that job while serving as the NSPRA president.

The 1,900-member association, based in Rockville, Md., serves school public relations professionals through its national seminars, workshops, and publications.

The shareholders of Carnegie Learning Inc. have elected Linda G. Roberts to serve on the company’s board of directors.

Ms. Roberts, 61, who served as a special adviser on technology to then-U.S. Secretary of Education Richard W. Riley, is an educational consultant based in Washington. She served as an adviser to Mr. Riley from September 1993 to January 2001.

Based in Pittsburgh, Pa., Carnegie Learning develops and markets technology-based curricula for students in middle school through college.

The Carnegie Foundation for the Advancement of Teaching has appointed Lloyd Bond, 60, to be a Carnegie Senior Scholar.

Mr. Bond left his position as a professor at the University of North Carolina at Greensboro to join the Menlo Park, Calif.-based organization. Mr. Bond will work closely with the foundation’s Delta Project, an initiative to improve teacher education.

The Carnegie Foundation is an independent policy and research center that seeks to improve the teaching profession.
