Barbara Cervone

Barbara Cervone, the national coordinator for the Annenberg Challenge and the associate director of the Annenberg Institute, based in Providence, R.I., has announced that she will leave effective Aug. 1. She worked at the institute for 61/2 years.

Ms. Cervone, 52, previously served for nine years as the associate director of the Rhode Island Community Foundation.

Rosie Vojtek

The National Staff Development Council has elected Rosie Vojtek as its board president.

Lenore Cohen

Ms. Vojtek, 46, is the principal of Ivy Drive Elementary School in Bristol, Conn.

The nonprofit organization, based in Oxford, Ohio, also elected Lenore Cohen and Cindy Harrison to its board of trustees.

Cindy Harrison

Ms. Cohen, 53, is the coordinator of professional development at Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore, and Ms. Harrison, 49, is the director of staff development for the Adams 12 Five Star Schools in Northglenn, Colo.

John A. Stewart, 56, is leaving his post in June as the deputy commissioner for education programs in the Florida Department of Education to become the deputy superintendent of the state's 115,000-student Pinellas County school system.

Byron Nelson will serve as the interim superintendent of the 42,000- student Jefferson County, Ala., schools through June 30. Mr. Nelson, 64, formerly served as the superintendent of the 3,300-student Homewood city schools.
