In a survey late last year of 696 registered California voters, the Field Poll found widespread support for a proposal to curb bilingual education in state schools.

Would vote yes Would vote no Undecided
Statewide 69% 24% 7%
White (non-Hispanic) 71 22 7
Latino 66 30 4
Black/African-American* 71 22 7
Asian/Other* 55 35 10

Results from the overall sample have a potential sampling error of plus or minus 3.6 percent. Subgroups could yield higher sampling errors.
