A story in the Oct. 29, 1997, issue of Education Week about Rhode Island's new assessments inaccurately reported the location of the Providence Blueprint for Education's school improvement efforts. The group, known as PROBE, advocates for school improvement in Providence.

A Nov. 12 item in the Research Notes column gave an incorrect citation for a reading study by Colin H. Sacks and John R. Mergendoller. The study is scheduled to appear in the winter issue of American Educational Research Journal.
