Project OPEN is a coalition formed to educate parents about telecommunications networks and promote the safe and responsible use of on-line services. The following are some of the participating companies and organizations:

National Consumers League, a private, nonprofit, consumer-advocacy organization based in Washington.

Microsoft Corp., Redmond, Wash.

NETCOM On-Line Communication Services Inc., San Jose, Calif.
