A story in the Oct. 4 issue of Education Week about states that have received federal charter-schools grants did not include Minnesota. The state received a $500,000 grant.
An item in the Philanthropy column in the Sept. 27 issue incorrectly stated that the Annenberg Institute for School Reform appointed Paul M. Nachtigal to direct the Annenberg Rural Challenge. Mr. Nachtigal was appointed by the Annenberg Rural Challenge board of directors.
Also, a report on the goals of the Rural Challenge referred to in the column was not written by Mr. Nachtigal. It was prepared prior to his arrival by Jonathan Sher, an adviser to the Annenberg Rural Challenge.
